Gary Carmody Conway
Gary Conway, iconic TV & film star, distinguished painter featured in galleries coast to coast, architect, musician, author, screenwriter, film director, Jeffersonian farmer, and winery proprietor, defines The Renaissance Man for our time.
Beyond the canvas, Gary helped shape the modern identity of Paso Robles. As founder of Carmody McKnight Estate Wines, he was an early visionary of the Westside’s viticultural potential—long before it became an internationally respected appellation. Working in association with California Polytechnic State University and other leading institutions, he contributed to research and innovation that elevated the region’s standing worldwide.
Gary’s paintings reflect the same depth, structure, and layered nuance found in great wine—bold yet contemplative, expressive yet refined.
I’ve painted all my life. I veered off to be a violinist, an actor, a writer, even a vineyardist. Maybe a complicated background… but I always found the creative Muse.
